Iain Weir took up rowing at Loughborough University as a novice in 2000 and was instantly hooked. Since then he has risen through the ranks winning races at various levels including winning the Thames Cup at Henley Royal Regatta 2006, winning back to back Vernon Trophy’s at HORR 2009 & 2010 in the London RC 1st Eight and a semi final appearance in the Ladies Plate at HRR 2010 in a composite crew with IC and Berliner Ruderclub.
Combining his experiences in the boat with an eye for the action Iain has photographed many rowing events domestically with the feathers in his cap being the photographer for the BBC’s Boat Race Promo sequence in 2010 as well as an exhibition of work at the River & Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames.
A regular contributor to Rowing & Regatta magazine Iain has been featured as contributor of the month and continues to supply the magazine with high quality images and was recently profiled for Euromaxx a European Arts & Culture show on Deutsche Welle.
